Re: GCN VGA Issues
Bump, but I have updated info that may be important to anyone interested in these displays. I dunno. Maybe. I ordered the GD50MLXD board (and another LCD because I ripped the ribbon cable on my first one...) based on the intel that it supported interlaced VGA as opposed to the newer board, and after...

Re: GCN VGA Issues
I suppose if worst comes to worse I can use the switch until I find another alternative. Does anyone know if the Dalian screens are all identical, so I don't have to buy another LCD?

Re: GCN VGA Issues
Yeah, in Tchay's review of the screen he has no problem with interlaced VGA. I have a slightly newer model, but the video specifications don't look much different between GD50MLXD and GD567M03, unless someone has the newer model and can confirm a difference. I'll be real frustrated if this screen do...

Re: GCN VGA Issues
But does that mean that a VGA device will not accept interlaced signal? I guess I'm confused as to how other modders made their screens work with VGA but not be all messed up when playing non progressive mode games, and not have to go all the way back to composite, or even be able to view the menu i...

GCN VGA Issues
I recently bought a D-Terminal cable for my gamecube, and swiftly cut off the Japanese connector to put RCA's on it for composite. No problem, beautiful picture. Then, when I went to mod the chip for VGA, I had problems. Plugged into my TV, there's no picture (but no "no signal" message either) when...

Re: Nintendo Wii U controller ... as a case
That's exactly what I thought when I first saw that. Probably a better use of it than playing lame 3rd party games, at least.

Re: Battery/wall power switch
Really? Won't the charge protection circuit prevent that?

Re: Battery/wall power switch
That's what I figured, thanks. If both were connected, would it just use the batteries' charge?

Battery/wall power switch
I wanted to install a port for plugging my system into wall power, instead of using the batteries, since the charger doesn't recharge them faster than they can discharge, and I was wondering if I could just wire the port right in without a switch. Will the wall power override the batteries if it has...

I feel so unoriginal now.
Good job though, I like how you didn't mod the original casing at all so it stayed smooth and clean, and the LED poking through the hole is much better than putting it behind the hole.

Re: PSone screen trimming
That's unfortunate for me, I'll have to find other things to trim up instead, unless I can find space to relocate it, which is doubtful.

Re: PSone screen trimming
Please, if anyone knows anything about trimming this part... Otherwise I can't fit my portable back together again.

Re: PSone screen trimming
This is not helpful to me. Also, my local used game store has another in stock that I'll probably buy soon, so you could probably find one if you looked around offline.
Although yes, I think this should be something that needs to be done.

Re: N64 Advance
I was surprised that I made it on Hackaday, and then I realized how much they love portables.
I'm also surprised you even found another one of those cases, I couldn't find it anywhere.

PSone screen trimming
How important are the resistors/capacitors all in a column on the far right side?
One is labeled audio R, but according to this diagram it might not actually be a primary part of the audio circuit.
