Try to find nylon spacers. If you get ones small enough you can thread them with woodscrews.

Re: Hackmodford's Gamecube Log
As far as I know it's got the same amount of pins as I need.
36pin 0.5mm pitch FFC
As to the pads on the sides of the board it looks like you can solder some surface mounted components or something if you want. I'm not going to use them.

Re: Guillou's Gcp workblog
From my understanding you have the wiikey backwards... you actually want to go directly to the port that says Wii AFAIK it comes with the special ribbon cable for that connector. You can then buy one of these to make it easier to solder. http://www.newhavendisplay.com/images/medium/NHD-FFC36-front_M...

Re: Guillou's Gcp workblog
Yes that's correct.
Also check out the thread about using the wii drive with a gamecube. You can actually replace the GC disc drive with a wiikey fusion modchip to run games off an sd card

Re: Hackmodford's Gamecube Log
Yeah... I'm trying to make it retro (hence grey) but trying to make it look like a gamecube (hence purple) but remind you of a gameboy (the black screen)
