Re: Possibility of modding a GBA SP+ screen with original GBA?
So it looks like the only real solution at this point is buying the one from Deal Extreme and putting the real GBA buttons into it. Anyone know how well it emulates? That's my one fear.

Re: Possibility of modding a GBA SP+ screen with original GBA?
Yeah, oftentimes the best answer to a question is to tell them they are asking the wrong question to start. :P I would put it on par with the SP+. One note: The buttons on mine felt weird, but you can just swap in an original GBA rubber button membrane, and it feels perfect. I imagine this is possi...

Re: Possibility of modding a GBA SP+ screen with original GBA?
Yeah, I have one. It is pretty close to perfect, and though the LCD is not perfect, it is far, far better than the stock GBA SP LCD. Really? Even better then the SP+? Wow, I might just have to give this a try. All I want plus 2 gigs of memory. Sometimes it's the solution you never thought of that t...

Wow, that's actually pretty cool. Any idea how well it plays GBA games (as in emulation problems etc.)?palmertech wrote:Oh, I could. Or just buy one of these.

Re: Possibility of modding a GBA SP+ screen with original GBA?
As far as an update, I've been going around to various electronics stores for solutions, mainly those who deal in aftermarket repairs and modding, but to no avail. The search continues.

Re: Possibility of modding a GBA SP+ screen with original GBA?
So, technically, if someone wanted to create a GBA that has the feel of an original GBA in their hands, but have a lighted folding screen, they could do the following: 1. Remove the screen from an AGB-001 (original GBA). 2. Remove the folding screen from a GBA SP. 3. Cut the SP's ribbon cable to se...

Re: Possibility of modding a GBA SP+ screen with original GBA?
That is interesting... It looks like there are different versions of the GBA. The picture of your GBA shows 32 connections, but when I look at my GBA, you can see that mine actually has 40 positions on the ribbon cable. What model GBA is yours? Did you get it in the USA or another country? I got mi...

Possibility of modding a GBA SP+ screen with original GBA?
So here's my dilemma. I love me some Gameboy Advance. I own both a GBA SP, with the new backlit screen, and a GBA Micro. As much as I love both systems, the form factor and d-pad of the original is my favorite. Of course the only problem is the lack of a backlit screen. Now I know about the Afterbur...
