Possible, yes. Practical, no. The things are different so you would have to do some crazy soldering and splicing of lines in order to have it work. Why not just use the PS2's DVD drive?

What do you mean by 'best'? The AC adaptor that comes with the PSOne screen outputs 7.5 Volts. The screen can use anything between 7.2V and 9V.
