Re: Nintendo64/GameboyAdvance

Umm, no offense but, what exactly is this? It looks like an n64 portable with a hunchback. I'm sure there's a good reason, but you didn't really explain what's going on. Could you spare some details?

And don't get me wrong, that's a nice looking bondo job, just the layout is kinda confusing.

Re: Need advice on a Mvs arcade machine build

For #3, ebay is a really good bet, or get the phonebook and dial up an arcade dealer in your area.

As for a bartop, you'd probably want a real arcade screen in that case, so you don't have to mess with converting the signals and everything.

Re: Raiden II JAMMA PCB

Wow, Raiden II for less that $100 is pretty decent. But yes, rotating the screen is probably your best bet, and is also generally safe to do.

Re: NeoGeo into maybe a portable

Well, you have to keep hunting on the old eBay if you want to find 'em. I got mine for $45. If you really want to find something, perhaps you'd like to look into the Neo-geo.com forums. There are plenty of sellers on there, but again, you have to be fairly quick and if you are known there then you'l...

Re: NeoGeo into maybe a portable

I wouldn't use an MV-1C, because the cart sticks straight out the top and it would be insane to relocate that double-connector slot. An MV-1B is pretty small and the cart is horizontal. Well, with that many conectors, the cartridge isn't going anywhere. I suppose if you wanted a handheld you could ...

Re: NeoGeo into maybe a portable

Well, someone might want to use an AES cartridge because they are ever so slightly smaller. Of course, I have never seen an adapter which converts AES carts to run on the MVS. Never. Maybe the other way around, those I have seen. One thing to note- if you are wanting to make a portable MVS, I would ...

Hey Nevermind, I thought the RES only required 6v?
No, the RES requires 5 volts, which is you have removed the AV daughter board you'll no longer have your 7805.

Re: NeoGeo into maybe a portable

The MVS only takes MVS cartridges, not AES ones. Also, if you mod the board correctly you won't need the 12 volt line, only 5 volts. Other than that, check this place out for tech info:

Good luck!

Re: GameBoy Color Problem

Circuit-bent, IE, wacky ground fault problems. Check your ground wiring very carefully. And reflow the joints leading to the DC-DC converter, which is the daughter board you are talking about.

Re: How do you score all this stuff?

Local arcade dealers are a great source, as are forums dedicated to the collecting/playing/selling of old arcade games. I get probably %90 of my Neo Geo MVS stuff from the Neo-Geo.com forums. eBay is nice, but high fees and sneaky personalities are making finding what you want much harder, especiall...

Re: Atari 2600 Portable

The driving controller, as far as I am aware, doesn't use a pot, but an encoder. And if you use a 10k pot instead of a 5k one, you'll just wind up with a big dead zone at one end where the 2600 will stop responding to the change in resistance.

Re: Hacking Neo Geo Pocket? Want to make a mini arcade

Looks like you got it under control. I actually was looking to buy some beat up NGPC units to steal the joysticks from, but I have a different supplier so it's OK. I don't know how you'd go about making such a circuit for the buttons, but I hope it works out for you. Good luck!

Re: Hacking Neo Geo Pocket video? Want to make a mini arcade

I don't know if you can get a proper video out from the NGPC. You'll need to build some kind of a circuit to re-interpret the video output for that. Other than that, I am confused why you'd want to do this, but mostly because I love the NGPC's joystick and wouldn't want to play NGPC games with anyth...

Re: Scored a working tekken 3 cab in good shape+ arkanoid board

Cool man! Are you going back for more? If they have any Neo Geo MVS stuff would you be willing to pick some up for me? BTW, Arkanoid is awesome, and that Tekken cab looks nice. BTW, where are you located? Because if by complete chance you are in MN I might just have to come see this place.
