NES Portable 100% completed! (Picture warning)
The NES portable Is 95% complete. I redid the case, got the screen hooked up, and it all works. Im superglueing everything in place, and finishing it up today. I cannot get pictures until later, but its still really cool.
I added the sound amp from the hip gear screen, and the volume control.
The color potentiometer is still attached, but wont be used. The color only looked good when it was at a certian point, so I added that Internally.
Pictures of it later!
EDIT: CHECK MY NEWER POSTS, ITS DONE!

I thought it was quite easy. I set the hipgear stats to exactly where I wanted them. Then I cut off the grey ribbon wires until I found any differences. The only ones I kept were color wires, and the volume wires. I desoldered the color potentiometer and rewired it to the main LCD board. Then I cut off the rest of the control board. I cut off the sound part so that the only area I had to solder to was audio, and power. No rewiring of compacitors and such.daleighan wrote:What is the new case made from? anyways, was it easy to hook up the screen? Just wondering because i'm going to make a NESp quite soon
At first, I thought it was a little confusing, but then I thought about it, and it was easy. I would say It was pretty easy.
And the new case? Its super secret, though it dosent really change anything major. And I am happy to help with anything on your NES project.

Sorry, didnt get measurements..daleighan wrote:Did you make a charging/ AC jack? I still can't figure out how to make a power jack work. Any help would be appreciated. Also, what are the dimensons of the whole hip screen including the controller board
the board is slightly larger than the screen, so I hope that helps.
And the AC adaptor is on its way. I just need to find one that outputs the correct voltage. (trying not to have to buy it)
I hooked up the power via a cutsom USB cable. I connected the +5v line to the red wire and ground to the black wire. Then you can have it work on the computer by using its power.
Oh and now its 98% done. The case is just drying from the glue I put on it.

And its done! Ive got pictures even! Im uploading em now. Man, im happy to have this thing all done. It was a real fun thing to make, and i would like to make more of em. I would make the case larger, with all of the contols from the hip gear. Currently you can change the volume, add headphones, play internal games, and use the special USB plug to play!

Sorry About the big wait, but I had to wait until the virus was gone.
Here you go!

And theree it is. I completed the portable on my birthday, August 29, 2005.
I like working with power player systems and will probably work with them in the future.
Now It's time to play!
Check out the NES website in my profile. That Is the page for my NES portable with all the pictures.
