dual analog n64 controller?
is there any dual analog n64 controllers .if not how difficult would it be to make? maybe replace the c buttons with a joystick? could u somehow use a ps1 dual analog controller on a nintendo 64.
Im jus a newbie.

Nope, there aren't any N64 controllers with 2 joysticks. You could put a joystick on top of the C buttons so that it would be like replacing it with a joystick, but other than that, not really. No you can't use a PS controller on an N64. You could gut it and an N64 controller and try to stuff the guts of the N64 controller inside the PS shell, but I doubt there is enough room. There is definitely not without some major controller board hacking. Why do you want 2 joysticks? Just to look cool?

A few games could allow one person to use multiple controllers...Electric Rain wrote:Wait wait wait... dual-controller options? What is this?
Not many though.
One game, Robotron 64, allowed one player to use two controllers to control an avatar. This way the game played like its predecessor, Robotron 2084. Star Wars Episode 1: Racer, GoldenEye 007 and Perfect Dark also used this set up for slightly different gameplay experiences (in terms of control, at least) compared to the standard single controller option.

one controller in each hand. was pretty clumsy and difficult since there was really only one button per controller that could be reached easily. That's why I kinda want to make a dual-controller mod some time. Maybe in something like a gamecube controller ( You should only need one set of buttons, I think. cut out the redundancies and I would expect that would allow you to reduce the footprint and fit it into a controller meant for dual analogs.Electric Rain wrote:How would that even work, though?
Its still not true to modern dual-analog accuracy because--and I'm not sure if you remember this-- in goldeneye and perfect dark, the gun did not remain stationary pointing to the center of the screen. when you moved the joystick, the aimer moved as well. so playing those games with dual analogs is still not gonna be as good as it could be, but its still an improvement.
while people are on the subject of odd N64 controllers, look at this one here on ebay a 1 handed n64 controller
I actually wasn't talking about self-leveling. that's not really a big problem (I use a dual analog setup on an emulator).anotherperson wrote:But that is a good point raised about the "self-leveling" property on Bond. If I remember correctly, as long as you keep moving the aiming joystick (or C-buttons in 1 controller mode) the view would not level out again. A bit of a pain but this is still a really interesting idea.
Let me see if I can better describe the problem I'm thinking of. Okay, so have you played a FPS on the Wii? you know how you you aim the gun within the screen AND turn/look with the same control? Its kinda like that in goldeneye, not very good for a dual analog setup. if you try to turn left, the gun aims at the left side of the screen instead of aiming at the center of the screen while you turn.
