No, the only clay mold I make is the mold of the system only. I dont make a mold of the controler.. So you end up with a case with no controller in it. Then after thats done you draw the out line of the controller on the case and route it out. Then embed the real controller in the case and glue it in...

Oh ok now Isee what you mean. I think I'm going to have to do what gannon said because the L and R buttons are pressure sensitive and to get them to work right I'm going to use the actual case design. Thanks though. I may use that method for my N64p Version 2, whenver I start that project up.

Have you had a chance to test your Lithium Polymer batteries yet? Let us know when you do....

Where did you get your DC converter from? I have been looking for one for a while so I can build a GCp. It is the most feasible design because the Gamecube has the best power (graphics) to size and weight ratio. It is also a great design because it has a standard Nintendo video connector, so that you could use it on your TV if you wanted to. The concept drawing doesn't look that great in my opinion either. How do you comfortably hold on to the damn thing? Anyway, good luck. If only I had some money to build a portable... I guess that's what I get for having no job.

that concept isn't gamelvr's, it was Nick862's design.

Like gannon said that design above is not mine. Also, I was simply referring to it so that you could kind of get an idea of what I was doing.

Sorry dkap01, but I haven't been able to test those batteries yet. I still have to buy the LEDs for the PSone screen mod (the other ones broke, except for one :( ) and I haven't been able to work much on the GCp lately.

As for that DC-DC converter I got it here.

I ordered the clay so as soon as that comes in I can build the clay and plaster molds. After the LEDs come in (hope they don't break)I'll wire everything up and test the batteries.

hmmm....didn't know that.....thanks.

Ok, it's been awhile since I've posted anything on the GCp. The thing is, there isn't much to post. All I've done is modded the PSone screen. I've been real busy this summer and I just couldn't find time to work on it.

This week I'm working on a second N64p, with a 3 inch pocket tv as the screen. I'm still using the same project box for the case but I'm making it thinner so that it's more comfortable to hold. I should be able to finish it by Wednesday or Thursday. (Btw, the reason I'm working on a N64p is because next week I'm going on a trip and the N64p will help keep me occupied during long drives)

So anways after my trip I'm going to begin working on my GCp again. I have everything I need to do planned out and I already have the clay, so it shouldn't take me a huge amount of time to finish it after my trip (Of course, it probably will).

Just posting this in case anyone was wondering what's up with the GCp.

I'm back from all of my vacationing (I wonder if that's a real word.....) and I can now finally resume work on the GCp project! I already have the PS1 screen backlight mod done so now all I have to do is hook up the Gamecube and PS1 screen with power, get audio and video, and wire the controller!!! And then there's the case............
Anyway, I hope to get the electronics done by the end of the week. I'll also measure the draw when I'm done.

Bad news for the GCp project, the PSone screen I was going to use has BROKEN!!!!!!! After I'm done with my 4th N64p then I can use the PSone screen from my N64p2 so I can resume progress on the GCp. I'll probably do some of the wiring in the mean time, or maybe I'll work on the case.
