i have been checking the IC and stuff with my multimeter and have drawn up a diagram that im am almost positive will work here it is

and how much can i cut down the controller is this too much

yeah i am just really mad cause i cant solder to the ends of the controller so im gonna do this if i can cut the controllor down like that

yeah, I did that with my first snesp. The traces are kinda hard to solder without a small tip though.

It's easy to solder to an IC's pins. Just can't heat it up too much.

is tht the right diagram (the one turbo tax posted before) or could you just cut off the IC??

It looks like there are some capacitors and resistors stuck in there which you probably still need.

i tested it and all the pins worked like that it is just really hard to solder to the buttons so i said screw it

so what are you doing now

i am wiring each pin to a tact switch and then connecting them all to the common pin last nigh5t i wired left right down select and start but i ran out vof wires so couldnt finish make sure you have flux it makes it a lot easier

so your doing the same thing you said before?
