Hello all,

Both my ps3 (phat) and 360 have died from overheating, i reflowed my ps3 and now works but runs really hot and the 360 just needs proper cooling for it to run again (turns on only in front of my airco unit at 17 C).
So i decided to make a laptop version of both.
I want to start with the 360 and do minimal rebuilding on it(as in not want to try and solder/desolder things) this mean it will not a very slim laptop but that is of no intrest to me.

To cool i decided to go with watercooling as this should keep it cool enough, now i found this block for the 360

Since i have no experience with any water cooling my question is this :
- will this also fit on the ps3 ? (size shouldn't be that different should it? )

- do i need a resevoir or can i just loop it between the pump and the chip cooler ?
- is there anything i'm missing for the cooling ?

So I do not need a reservoir or radiator ?
I was thinking about setting up the above mentioned block on the ps3 and connect it to this radiator (placed next to the motherboard with a fan over it , should this fan suck or blow the air btw ?)

lol sorry, forgot to add the reservoir.
that block will work yes, you need to buy separate hose connectors though.
i linked a small radiator before and any small fan will do the trick of cooling the radiator.

the radiator you linked is xboxhuge, might not fit in the case.
you can easily find a water holding thing that will fit in the case too.

I couldn't find a topic about general reconnecting questions or help so I'll ask it here.
When the fan of the ps3 is off can I connect the pump on the fan connector (I thought they had the same pins) ? or will this kill my pump/board ?
Is it possible to solder wires from 2 fans together and solder those joints to the board and still get enough power from it ?
(as in solder the ground and ground,12V and 12V, 5V and 5V together and solder those extensions to board )

Still waiting till my waterblock is available so no progress as of yet.
But since they delayed the delivery date 3 times allready i'm thinking of canceling the order and getting seperate cooling blocks.
Is it possible to cool the GPU and RSX chip of the ps3 with 2 GPU coolers ?

My order finaly is up for shipment (almost a month of waiting) so soon i am able to do some work on it.
One thing i haven't been able to find out is if there is a detailed instruction of how to wire the power from my new screen to a power source on the ps3. I don't want to use 2 power plugs so it should turn on my ps3 and monitor at the same time. can i just solder the power cord wires from the monitor onto the wires of the ps3 power cord ?

I too am going water cool my ps3 phat but not sure how I should connect it up power wise

I haven't started yet since i got my cooling supplies in the mail last week.
I have no idea how to wire it all down i'm just gonna try some things and hope it works out (little help from the guys here and some tutorials on the internet).
I'm gonna start by testing my water cooling loops by using my pc but since i'm close to gratuation i don't have that much time so it will be some time before anything will hapen.

Ah cool, been mulling over how I should power the pump, I wanted to do it so it turns on when the ps3 is switched on. Only problem is I am puzzled as how to tap into the ps3 psu
