Replacing Wii Laser Lens

I've got a Wii that won't read discs. It's a first gen release Wii. It gives me the disc cannot be read error. I'm thinking a laser lens will fix it. If so I also need to know if It matters which one I get. I'm looking at http://cgi.ebay.com/Laser-Lens-Replacem ... 890wt_1004 but I'm not sure if it's compatible. Please help me out I need it!

have you tried a disc cleaner?

no not yet, but the person i bought it from said they did
