Yeah, of course. Otherwise, your N64 wouldn't work if you didn't have an expansion in it.

the one on the bottom was never developed and therefore has no use,

...was never developed? It has a purpose, just not for most gamers.

yeah, but the only thing that came from that was the n64dd, and EVERYBODY knows that that was a big :facepalm: .

If you want to just plug the cartridge slot into where it normally goes, it won't work without the EXP port. The cart slot plugs into the EXP port, which is soldered to the N64 board, so no EXP port means no connection (without some soldering). If you plan on relocating the cart slot for a portable, though, you'll be fine without the EXP port.

i figured that out when i pulled it off and did the soldering but it still no work and the LED does come on and it gets warm but still has no video or sound

i am not the worlds bets solderer i may have shorted some pins and tested it and fried it :cry:
yet if i fried it would the led come on and the chips get warm :?
