I would like to model an xbox 360 laptop case after one of Ben Heck's... well actually pretty much steal the whole design, but...

Does anyone know where to find sintra .75 inches thick? the thickest I've seen is .5 inches.

Oh and if anyone cares, I'm trying to re-create this. http://www.engadget.com/2007/04/25/how- ... op-part-2/

WHY do you need 3/4" for a laptop?

OH I see for the walls... I think sintra only comes in like 1/8 and 1/4 and 1/2.

That Ben...

lying about they sizes sintra comes in. I'm sure if I google hard enough I'll find it, but help appreciated. If anything I'll stack 3 sheets of .5 inch

edit: Yikes! that's gonna cost me $138 http://www.sdplastics.com/komatex.html

And I don't even know where I'm going to find a cnc machine for it. Maybe I'll wait this one out for a while, at least until I can find a cnc machine.

If you looked in the thread right below this one, you would realize that I have a CNC machine.

yeah I saw that, and it would probably be my best option, I was just trying to look local, because they say when shipping komatex it has to be shipped by truck, not ups. I'm sure that costs way more than I want to pay shipping for 3 times.

the stuff is sold in 48" X 96" sheets, all I really need is aprox. 20" X 34". I really wish I could buy half a sheet for $70

edit: If I'm able to cut out things literally side by side, (the side of one cut is the side of another) I could get by with a 1/2" sheet for $99 <--- If someone could verify that its possible to cnc things side by side.

not sure if I can order from sdplastics or not, but I might actually buy some soon.

you can use a 0.5 + 0.25 thick and glue them together (which is what ben did I believe).

honestly though, if your short on $$ just make your own designs and cut them, ben does it a expensive way
