Just set the PSI low, a bicycle pump and compressed air both do the same thing, except one is faster.

My afternoon projects:

CLEANING AND ORGANIZING MY WORK BENCH!!!

Shelves I made out of scrap cardboard:

Easy access power strip mounted to the wall:

I'm very glad to have all sorts of room to work again. I've taken that to my advantage and also made a LED worklight!!!
Image

20 LED's at 3v each:
Image

It's very bright, I can light up my whole bench easily:
Image

It runs off of 6V from wall power. Guess what I jacked the cord/plugin from?

The inside (hot glue FTW):

And 1/4" hot glue on the LED's for protection!:

As you can see, it has a SPST switch to turn it on and off. I made it so I could light up things I'm soldering, because I don't have a nice desk light to use yet.

Why didn't I think of that? I've been trying to think of a cheap and easy way to make lots of easily accessible storage space, but I never thought of using cardboard. Great idea. 8)

There's a whole lot of crap I have that I'm gonna throw out, but I'm not going to get around to it until summer. I was going to hack an RF modulator, but then I got this nasty cold.

Yeah, cardboard is some pretty great stuff.

It's even better if you can get a hold of some of that double- or triple-thick stuff they use for heavy duty shipping, or if you put the corrugations at opposing angles. (That strengthens it like opposing wood grain in plywood.)

I work at a grocery store, so I can get all the cardboard I need. The boxes that laundry detergents come in are double thick, so those work great.

I was bored so I added an LED to a PS1 memory card. I did a crappy job and it looks like crap. But I was really bored.

I also sucessfully fixed a Captain Skyhawk game cartridge, and tried to fix a Sonic cart. I also discovered a way to get Nintendo screws out. I call it the "plier method".

This felt empty, so I did something this afternoon. I painted my xbox with spray paints laying around the house.
The result is my "Covenant" Xbox, because the silly UNSC get to much attention in all the Halo themed mods.
Image
It looks like this inside. Note the socket 7 processor and the hard drive motor.
All the masking. Yes, I did this outside, in the wind, in a pile of leaves.
I have more pictures on my imageshack page if you care to find it, shouldn't be too hard.
Just happens to be my first time using spraypaint since I was like. . . 12.

Did this mod in about half an hour. Detailed how to get a GBA Converter (tv out) card to work properly: HERE They are not too hard to get hold of for anyone who wants to make a GBA with a bigger screen, etc. The Converter is only rated at 8v and 500mA too (sure it takes less than 500mA) - it can also be RGB modded too (I will test this out next week - nice mini-project).
