does anybody ever pay attention to my overclocking guide

Thanks for the link MadHacker, I was more confused by the layout of two crystals and a switch however... For example, should it run like this:

GBC Motherboard _______Switch______8MHz Crystal______|
| |
|_______14MHz Crystal______|

(excuse my poor attempt at a circuit diagram)

How should I order the components & wires?

Thanks again

Keir

@ Themadhacker: Actually, I pulled it from the 5v and ground pins. Conveniently, they are the pins farthest to the left, and farthest to the right. :D

If I understand your diagram right, it looks correct.

I would order the parts off ebay. All you need is a crystal, and wire you can rip out of old electrics easily.

Or, tear apart random stuff looking for a crystal. That is what I did.

get crystals from dead electronics (such as pc cards ) and get he wire from old AV cables or computer IDE cable.

EDIT: oh, and thanks, palmer!

Ahhh, it didn't quite come out the way I'd hoped, lemme try this...

GBC MB===||
| . . . . . . . . ||
Switch----14MHz
| . . . . . . . . |
8MHz -----|

(Ignore the periods, I couldn't get the pipes to line up properly without them)

So presumably I'll be running one wire from GBC solder pad to the switch, two wires from the switch to each of the crystals, and then have the two return wires from the crystals coming back to the second solder pad on the GBC board... Does this make sense? If the crystals have no polarity, what's the direction of the circuit? Am I missing something? Is there a different type of switch I need?

Sorry for al the questions, as I said, I'm a n00b with circuits...

Thanks again

Keir

EDIT: Oh, I meant order them in the circuit, not order them online, etc. Should have clarified, thanks though :D

I had some time to kill and threw this together, used a pic of the GBC motherboard from Brandon Bridges' overclocking guide

http://www.geocities.com/gbcoverclocking/page2.html

Maybe this'll help n00bs like me... I'll put together something cleaner when I have some more time to spare

Cheers

It seems that quite this likely, but I do not find the problem, I am going to look at the circuit, but I it did all good.

Thank you

pd: Hello again, already I saw the bad(wrong) thing, it was a resistance badly welded, a small bilge.

Solde and end of the problem.

Graces(Thanks) and regards

Hey I'm sorry about bringing back a dead topic.. (Dont kill me... eep).

But I wanted to know, is the back, black rubber? or is something else the grip you were referring to?
If so where did you get it? Id like to put this on my gbc, it looks pretty sweet!

Also, that is a standard color silver for the gbc isn't it? or did you colour it yourself?

Thanks,

-Gaara

EDIT
: Man that was a stupid question, I read back and realised it was the paint...
