i just recently came across this website and i am truly fascinated with everything everyone here has made. i have a ps2 lying around that i really wanna do something to.

a handheld portable ps2 seemed too hard and out of my level for me so i wanted something pretty easy. i came up with a ps2 inside a shoe box.

i was thinking about a good sized screen on the top flap of a nike shoe box. and all the ps2 compartments inside with a plexy glass above it. and maybe multi-tap installed for more controllers.

so i was wondering what should i know about lcd screens, taking apart a ps2, powering it on batteries and what i should look out for to start my project. any help/tips is appreciated. thanks in advanced.

What I want to know is why in a shoe box? Just go to a place like Radio Shack and buy a project box.

1) about screens : buy a PSOne screen from a local gamestop or something. If you want a more expensive (though not necessarily better...) screen, buy a Casio EV-570, 680, or 4500.

2) powering it one batteries : someone here is bound to have a diagram or something like that.

3) what to look out for : breaking the system. use a static bracelet from Radio Shack to help prevent frying the board.

also, I wouldn't recommend trying this as a first project, I would say an NES, or Atari 2600, but that's just me...

He said that it was too hard also, so he was going to just put the ps2 into a shoe box :)
