That's right! Throwing Knives! I got myself a set cheap off of eBay. They probably cost a total of $3 to make, but hey, $15 shipped for 4 and a sheath isn't bad, even if they're made in China and of assumed Chinese import quality.

There's really a lot more technique to throwing knives than one would first think. A lot more than shooting BB guns, or real guns for that matter. You have to throw in a manner to minimize rotation, which is difficult because of the way your arm is attached to your body. It's quite fun.

Anyone else practice the art of throwing knives? Shirukens are cheating because they have blades on all sides, and rotation is key. In fact, now that I think about it, they're completely different.

It's something a lot of you would like, I'm sure.

shooting a gun accurately takes more skill than you think. any idiot can hit a person sized target at 10 yards, hitting quarter sized targets at 75 yards is a bit harder! but yea ive done tomahawk throwing and stuff like that before. its pretty fun!

I made a Bead Blow Gun by getting some cheap-azz beads, a PVC pipe and container. When I blew a bead, it smashed a pane of glass.

Actually if you just toss them as hard as you can, there's a very likely chance it will hit with the butt or sideways, especially if it's an unbalanced normal person knife.

But yes, I originally intended this quest with a human target in mind.

No, I didn't.

Quick poll: How many people think Obama will be shot at tomorrow?

How about if you throw them like a dart?

Still' if it's unbalanced, wind resistance will spin it around. Try throwing an arrow backwards. That's like throwing a knife with a heavy handle, only the pointy end is on the other side.

Throwing knives are perfectly balanced, so are actually harder to throw than a forwards-facing arrow and hit with the pointy end, as any rotation instilled on departure remains for the duration of the flight.

ie. It keeps spinning without any forces trying to establish an equilibrium.
