NEWS!

Added a custom made battery connector (ide plug ripped apart , need a clip to be steady) and a switch to choose from the wall or the batts.
And also bondoed a lil bit the case, don't look a the creppy jopb, it early.

So far there's a DC, audio out mini-jack, battery connector with switch, pico psu runnig from 12v, a 11.1 battery, splitted controller psone screen, regulator for the screen and a semi bondoed case...

Comments are welcome !

Cool. And ya.. I really hope the case is going to be thinner than that. It looks like a brick tbh.

But it's coming along great, I hope to see another DC portable enter the world :D

Yeah, the case will be thinner, it ain't trimmed so far, to be sure not to cut it too thin, it's the only one I can make so I must be careful. I think I'd be able to make it about 1 inch thinner than on the picture.

Nice. I can't wait to see this done. Are you going to use the original DC buttons, analog cap, and dpad or the crap astropad ones?

I'ma take the crappy astropad ones, because they'll fit and it'll be less bothering. dkap didn't used the original dc parts neither for the controller, he used psone's one.

I'm also thinking about a internal/external controller 1 input (with a switch)
I think a 3pole 2way switch on the ground of the controller would do the job ...

Anybody knows if this would works before I loose precious time doing it and finally find out it wont works ?

Thank you !

Well, I know it's a little late, But If I were you I would either cut off the 5v line, or try and take out all of the data lines. I don't know much about the DC controller's language so I can't help much.

Putting the switch on the ground or on the 5v line would do the same (as long as there's only one input line though). Thanks anyway but I may put this Idea aside and try to finish it before pimpiing it, It'd be for the v2 !

*NEW QUESTION !*

How could I make the portable running on the batteries when no plug is plugged, but runnig from the wall as soone an the adapter is plugged in ? automatically I know "Life of Brian" did it and I think it's way cooler than a switch ...

Thank you !

Looking good.

That case though... Looks like Gamelver's GCp case. Coincidence or just using a proven design? But in any case, it looks good. And I'm anxious to see the final result.

I didn't based the design on anything, beside a gameboy advance and other portables for the controls at each side of the screen. In fact my mold was a block of wood with sanded edges. I know there's a lot of other similar cases out there but I think it's onyl because of their simplicity.

Yeah I can't wait to finish it myself, been really busy in normal life lately so I hope I'll have time to owrk on it soon !

Haha :P Yes that's far from done !

THe hardest part is doing the case (for me btw). I,m stuck on it since a lot too much time, the guts works perfectly though.

I wish I'll find time between social life/college/work and sleep to work on this a bit more ...

Maybe if I cut on Sleep ?
