Damn, just found the ribbon cable going from the actual screen to the main board has split. I dont know how its happened.

Does anyone know how i can i fix this? Has anyone got a broken screen with a intact ribbon cable they can send me?

I was SOOOOO close to getting video and audio working on this thing :(

I'm in UK btw.

Sorry, didn't see this until now.

You can usually buy ribbon cable if it's a common size. If not, then it's just wires - you can solder the connections.

I hope you didn't buy a whole new screen!?!? If you were local I'd work out something with you about getting the old one working.

Yeah just put the old cables back with a lil' ol' solder. Thats what we do, were hardware hackers.

Actually after reading your posts, it isnt the ribbon cable, its the plastic kinda orange thing(Pardon my lack of tech working lol) that joins the screen to the main board. And it ripped right at the screen end so i cant get the rest of the orange bit out of it.

I just brought a new one, but when i plugged it into my Ps2 to test it, i can hear sound but the screen just stays white. Tried all the colour and brightness settings but nothing but white. Any ideas?

Do you still have the broken screen? Try the LCD from the new screen and the mobo from the old screen. See if they'll work together.
