Yeah, you probably don't want to get any of this junk on your skin... It didn't bother me too much the last few times I just used my finger to spread it, but why take chances?

I have used that a lot (exact same thing) with just bare hands and I haven't had any problems with it, besides the fact of having reddish fingertips until you scrub it off sometimes. It says on the tube that it is a skin irritant and may be harmful if absorbed through skin, so It can't be good.

sorry for all the questions, it's just i want to use these batteries and am a little scared of blowing them up... so i'd much rather copy somebody...

I went with the second one. I got it because the batteries I'm using have an 8.5 A maximum discharge rate, so I got a protection circuit that only allows a maximum of 8 amps. Make sense? This is my first experience working with li-poly batteries, so if you have more specific questions you might get in touch with Turbo Tax because that's who I ask for help He's used them in several portables now so he's definitely got more experience with them than me.

I found a drill press on sale for $35! I was skeptical at first and half expected to need to return it, but it's actually quite nice! Small, but that's just what I needed for my type of projects.

Nice, I could do with one of these, but can't justify buying a drill press. Fortunately I have steady hands so am ok. I am toying at some stage about making one for my Dremel, but not sure yet if I will.

I have the exact same canister of compressed air.

I figured out how I'll make the volume and brightness adjust buttons for the screen.


My local RadioShack just recently started stocking some extra tall tact switches, so that makes this easy.


Superglued some perf board in place to be soldered to later.

First coat of primer!






I'll need to add some more spot putty here and there and do some more sanding. The primer helps me see the uneven spots because of its uniform color.

I just put the first coat of paint on. I took these pics while the paint was still wet so it looks shinier than it's going to be. I'm using satin white Krylon Fusion paint. The primer was kind of old and consequently blew little chunks here and there while I was applying the second coat. I sanded it down in those spots and then put this first coat of paint on. I'll be doing a lot of very fine sanding to get it as smooth as I'd like.

I know, it doesn't look much different from the primer alone in these pictures but it's getting better all the time.

Question: Have you ever held an n64 mobo? Would this be a good case for an n64p?

Cause #5 is just around the corner for me.
