bad news. the case fell off my work bench while I was gluing the wooden panels to the frame. Cracked the frame in two. I am going to have to start all over on the frame. Only sets me back 2 or so days so I should get this portable done by the end of this week.

The one on the left is my NESp. :wink: I haven't drilled the holes for the SNESp on the right.

Lol, I never realized that if the Snes case was on the righ then the case on the left wasn't it and I almost asked the same question. Nice work, that thing looks awesome so far.

Did some more work on the SNES portable. It is almost ready for the electronic guts to be installed inside.

<img src="http://longhornengineer.com/images/projects/SNESpV1/snesp4.jpg" align="center"/>

The front panel is almost finished. All the cuts are done and I just have to drill the holes for the buttons.

A view of the cart slot from the inside.

<img src="http://longhornengineer.com/images/projects/SNESpV1/snesp6.jpg" align="center"/>

Another view of the cart slot. As you can tell, it hasn't been sanded down yet.

Mock-up of the guts. Everything fits perfectly and snug.

The RGB output as shown on the LCD screen. The RGB makes the picture nice and sharp.

Very smexy. 8) The wood, again, is looking really good, and you've made a lot of progress on the guts as well. Here's to finishing it soon! *Raises glass*

Geez, graph paper? What are you trying to do - make things look professional? You're making some of us look bad :P

Seriously though, you're proving yourself to be the wooden case master of these forums. It's looking great!

So, RGB on a mini SNES, eh? I know I saw a link once before for how to do that, but for the life of me I can't find it! Anyone know what I'm talking about?

It is really easy to convert the mini SNES for RGB if you have steady hands. It requires soldering wires to a surface mount chip U7 (located behind the cart slot. Pin 20 is Red, Pin 22 is Green, Pin 24 is Blue, and Pin 7 is the Sync. To attach it to a PSone Screen no additional circuitry is required. http://www.gamesx.com/rgbadd/snes2rgb.htm has more info but my method was more quick'n dirty then theres.

Thanks for the comment.

Anyways. More work done.
