Wow! That thing is awesome! Thats one of the nicest n64ps I've seen. I need to invest in a vacuum forming machine. ;)

Haha. That's the only reason why I don't throw my L button out the window. For the amount of times you will use the D-Pad and L button (just Pokemon Stadium, Kirby and Smash Bros. as far as I know) It isn't really worth the extra effort.

wow, that thing is amazing. Did you build your own vacuum forming table? If so do you have plans for it or something? :D

Yes, I built my own - it's quite simply a plywood box with holes drilled in the top. I never planned it out but I don't think it would be hard at all to make if you have the right tools (tablesaw, router etc)

I've been doing some searching on google about them. Does yours have a heating unit built in, or did you heat the plastic before hand? How hot does the plastic get (will it melt ABS?)

I've been working on some CAD plans to make a case with the CNC machine we have at work, but it would be so much cooler if i could vacuum form it. Just trying to get some tips from someone who has done it already. Thanks

He probably put a sheet of the plastic in the oven then transferred it to the vacuformer when it was ready.

Zowie! Thats spectacular. There is one slight deformation on the case though, a small black dot...oh...thats a bad pixel on my screen. It's perfect! Quite an improvement over the old case design.

And your method of vacuum forming is probably the easiest, only takes up a small amount of space, and is the cheapest method I've seen yet, and you can't argue with those results. Makes me want to try it.

Once again I come back to say leetness! But you could add a second player with a real controller and play say Pokemon with that....but then again it'll think that 1p is permanently connected...maybe a DIP switch (3 pin) wouldn't serve to bad, but still, leet portable!
