sorry for the question, but i'm making a game cube look like a nes.
And with this ive come to a dision making point...

the controler...

I was oreganaly thinking of getting retro cons
http://madcatz.com/MadCatz/product_details.jsp?product_id=8202
and replaceing the case using ps to cube converters and having them plug in to nes plugs and look as nes as i can with out having to lop off the joy sticks.

but i'm at a loss of funds at the moment and i'm thinking maby... (temporay or permenent i cant tell yet) but do the same trick to the stock game cube controler i have... with out replacing the case for a nes one.
or just painting it up to have the old colors...

so what sould i do wait till i have the money and get a retro con

or do it now with the cube controler....

or can some one tell me how to get nes controlers to work on a game cube?

Sorry but its going to next to impossible to make an NES controller work with a GC. The interface for the NES was like that of a computer's printer port. The GC lacks that and so you'd have to make (by hand) a convertor that would change the NES to GC but remember that it may not work as the GC could require passive feed back from the controller and of the conrtoller is missing hardware to anything it wont respond. I'm only speculating (dont own a GC) but it would be best to just go with the paint.

On another note a friend of mine found someone had thrown out a PSX(controller) to DC convertor, and the worst thing I saw was a plug for power. Yes I was suprised to find they need an external power supply.

If/When your going to paint it just plan it out. Like use a base coat, masking tape and take your time.
My brother painted some of his controllers, I'm not going to say they look worse but the paint adds a very uncomfortable feeling (like a plastic rubber).

I wish you luck on painting your GC

allow plenty of time to dry, otherwise the spraypaint feels all sticky

Hmm...a NES to GC converter...

I suppose it's possible, but would need a GC controller board, and you would need to install 2 49-position joysticks into the NES contoller for the control stick + c-stick(as well as two extra buttons, and L + R), so it would really not be worth it, but it's possible, of course. I would just paint the GC controller or make and paint a new contoller shell from a mold.

if you guys agree i'll make the molds and send them to you with the money for plastic, shipping back and some for you trubble...

I'm requesting that your a canadian cus of my money, but i dont mind doing the exchange....

i hope some one wants to do this. and posably a dreamcast case for me in the future.

I live in the center, although I used to go out to an island off the coast of washington every summer when I was little. It was always foggy and rainy there.

Yay!! lol... seems like portablization has taken another step forward sort of. Joint cooperation through construction on a project over a distance might prove interesting.
