Hey, that's a great idea! If you could get 12V, that would be like 33A, so you could power your N64 and a food processor! Food, exercise, and video games, can life get any better?

WOOHOO! It works on 6 rechargeable AA's! I thought it was worth trying so I did, and the N64 worked fine. I only ran it for 2 minutes before I turned it off, so I still have to see how long it lasts.

I was really surprised how easy it was to hook up. All I did was put a 100 microfarad cap to the output, connect the input, ground, and output wires, and that was it.

I hate you!
I probably have a defective unit, I've tried various 100uf caps but none make any difference (I still get a loud buzzing and when under load there's distortion)

i got mine today and hooked it up and it works :) . only problem is there are some waves that go across the screen. i assume this is because i only used the 100uf cap but no optional 1uf ceramic cap. i looked around in some of my junk for a 1uf ceramic cap but they're confusing because i can't find the uf label on them. here's what it looks like, where on there does it say the capacitance? does it matter if it's a little off or will it work if i use just any ceramic cap?

the capacitace is "103". the way i think this works is the first two numbers are a number, and the last one is a multiplier of picofarads. so. 103 would be 10^3 pF, or 1uF.

the size dosent need to be exact, but a bit bigger would probably be better than a bit smaller (better extra than not enough...)

Wouldn't that be .01 uf according tothis? I think it would need to read "105" to be 1 uf.

OK, that's good because the ceramic cap didn't fix it. the thing i got it from also has some 105s, i'll try those :)

well i couldn't find any 1uf ceramic caps anywhere so i used a 100uf electrolic cap instead and replaced the 100uf cap on the out line with a 2000uf cap  and put another switching regulator of the same kind in parallel. unfortunetly, it didn't do anything :( so i checked it to make sure it was getting 3.3v and it was. i'm stumped. i can't see what the problem is, is anybody else getting this problem?

did it work before you put the 2mF cap on?

if its elecrolytic, thats way too huge. go back to 100uF

Hey did you guys know you can get more than just one. You can't order more than one at a time, but after you get the first one, you can just order another sample! Kinda silly for them to have to pay shipping twice, but thats their problem...

Try not to abuse it though. We don't want them getting wise, and not giving samples anymore.

You're right G-force, I've only got two 3.3v regulators for mine. Now I can use the boxes for ebay! :)
