Found this link, worth viewing. Shows techniques for soldering and desoldering to microchips and other small components, and using flux.

Useful information. Thanks!
However, it does not mention how to desolder SMD IC's without flooding the legs with solder. (Which is something I sometimes would need to do)

I've seen that video before. That site also has guides for normal soldering. I haven't seen better videos showing how to solder.

That 208-pin chip looks daunting. Surface mount scares me.

EDIT: Actually, now that I've watched more of this video. I wanna try it.
