WTF Radio Shack now a pawn shop?

Post by benheck »

While looking for crystals for, well, you know BILL PAXTON MOTHERF'ING PINBALL, I came across this... thing at Radio Shack that apparently lets you trade in crap.

http://radioshack.cexchange.com/online/home/index.rails" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It's kind of amusing to see their crappy prices, but more worrisome is that Radioshack is becoming a pawn shop, albeit a "high end" one like Gamestop.

Discuss!

If you trade in an 80gb PS3 they'll give you a whole $175 for it

This just seems like a way to rip off unaware consumers who don't know how/can't use ebay.

Radio Shack is slipping farther and farther away from the store it used to be. Just like Funcoland did when it turned into Gamestop. And neither in a good way.

Come on, people! At least it's not Cash 4 Gold! $16.90 for a $95.30 ring! What a deal!

Seriously, though. I'd take RadioShack over these "send in your gold" companies any day. >_>

Funcoland was the best. I remember going there all the time to look at SNES games.

I actually saw an online ad for this Radio Shack program. The prices struck me as ridiculously low, and they were the 'high' prices for the items (all accessories included, item in mint condition, box still sealed, etc)

I noticed some electronics have a value of $0! Wow!

Radio Shack is a shell of what it once was, but you can still get stuff there.

I used to work at a Funcoland long ago, it WAS awesome. You were told to sell magazines and game cleaners, but everytime you did it added I think $2.50 to your paycheck, so it was a win-win!

I know how radio shack is still in business, they sell a $0.03 diode for $5. I then went to buy them on mouser, seriously, I didn't care about shipping, I just bought a bunch of them at once.

Why the hell do they pay more for a Wii than a Xbox 360 Elite!?

The prices need to be bumped up by an additional 90% before anyone would even consider selling anything to them.

Game Boy SP...for as much as $15.47!
That is how much the average GBO game goes for at my local used game store...
