Yeah I was thinking of butterfly knives too. But...

1) They're illegal, throwing knives are WAY easier to obtain.
2) You can cut yourself much easier before you get good.

That being said, if I saw one I'd buy it. It's just not likely that will happen.

I know how to throw them very well so ask me for tips-At my job I break boxes with a 3inch blade knife, and I throw it a lot in to the boxes well.

Well, I have Balisong (butterfly knives) and I've found them at flea markets and legit stores such as military surplus. Unless you buy a double edged one or are retarded with them they aren't so bad.
PROTIP, hold the end that folds against the blunt side of the blade when learning to flip and close (Usually the one with the clasp). You won't cut yourself.

That's one great tip! Shame I'm too dumb to figure that one out! I feel sorry for someone who practices with a swinging sharp blade coming at their hand.

Same with throwing knives. I'm starting with blunt ones, except for the tips. No sense in slicing my hand open before I can even throw them properly.

Can they still hurt when it hits someone?

i said no so he went and told our parents, they got mad, only my brother got in trouble, and i lived happily ever after.

Yeah, the tip is pointy so it sticks in the target. But the edges only "look" sharp, so you don't slice your hand open.

I had a couple one time and I got to be pretty good with them, but I have no idea what happened to them.
