Audio amp needed

Post by Super Mulletman » Fri Jul 09, 2004 3:29 pm

As I mentioned in my S-video topic, I have a whole game setup plan going, but unfortunately, I forgot all about the audio part. I have two strategically placed speakers on either side of me, but I forgot that I needed an amp, or the speakers will be a whisper at max volume. I already have an audio device that adds in a volume knob and mono or stereo switch, so I just need to amp up the volume without clipping (unwanted noises). How could I do this, and how much power will this take?

I used an A47 for my audio amp. It's made for low-impedance headphones, but works fairly well for speakers as well.

If you want more output power and cheap parts, look around for amps based on the LM386 opamp.
