I need a freeware Flv converter so that I can convert some flash videos to my psp, I have tried a couple of programs such as PSP video 9 but they had problems converting Flv. Thanks guys.

I believe Media Player Classic can play FLV format flash video.
VLC Media Player definitely can. (I know I mention it every time someone wants to run a media format of some sort but it works. )

MediaCoder. I'm using it right now to convert Serial Experiments Lain episodes from .flv (from YouTube) to XviD.

Oh well, I agree. MediaCoder is one of the best media encoders out there, and best of all it's quality freeware! No purchase nagging!
It's pretty simple to use, especially if you're converting for the PSP. If you set it up in Device mode and click the button with a picture of a PSP, it opens a control window and automatically changes the audio, video, and container settings to match.
Let me guess why you're converting to XviD... GP2X? I want one of those.
