I was using my psone screen when all of a sudden the psone's backlight stopped working. I can see the picture very dimly but the backlight does not turn on. I was wondering how should I go about fixing this. Thanks

Replace the backlight with LED's or get a backlight from someone on the forum.

I dont want to led mod it but i meant to say its the transformer that's not working. Is there any fuses on the board i can jump to get it working?

Are you powering the screen off batteries? They may not be powerfull enough. Usually the stock CCFL backlight shuts off if the screen does'nt get enough amperage. I think it needs around 650-700ma to run unmodded. Also check if the backlight plug is properly attached.

Re: Psone screen Backlight
You have either
1) Fried the Transformer to get it from whatever voltage (Lets say, 12v) up to I think it is 10 000v to power the CFCL tube. Though, you would of herd a 'hisssssss...' sound from it if that happened.
2) Shorted out a pin somewhere? Which is unlikely as you said it is dim...
Just do the LED mod. That is is best option as the CFCL and Transformer will use a lot of power for nothing. Oh, and there quite dangerous too
