PS2 fat version battery?

Post by bweiss3 » Tue Nov 15, 2011 8:03 pm

My family travels a lot, and i built a ps2 laptop. Everything works on it, and i really want to put a battery in or outside it somewhere. I have only found ways of doing this with the slim version, because it has an external brick. The fat version straight up takes 120v ac from a wall outlet. I need help finding the correct battery and how wire it (hopefully using the power jack) but if not, i can solder. This has surprisingly been the only thing that's stumped me like this. Thanks for anyone's help.

It's stumped you because it isn't feasible, you're not going to find a battery that delivers 120V AC. You'd basically need to re-build, or somehow replace, the internal power supply to be able to take in a smaller DC voltage (like 12V) as the input. Far less trouble to grab a PSTwo instead, and may even be cheaper depending on what it'd take to re-make the power supply.
