easy, game KA,
yeah just glue it back on the chips area using Acrtic sliver heatsink paste if your heatsink default paste came off the CPU's or else when you turn your gc on with no paste to proect the cpu's and no heatsink you cube cpu's will overheat and shut off your cube :!:

check out Tchay's gamecube cooling solution's post: http://forums.benheck.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=42586" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

it has all you need on heatsinks and this stuff I'm talking about.

also cheap out my heatsink with fan in my work log updated regally in my sig.

i used a cool method from Hackermod on combining the heatsink and the stock gc fan together, it'll all in my work log.

aslo see his mod of it.

hope this helps.

Hmm... Thermal Pads would be better as it would actually HOLD it on there extremely well.
