What are you using to cut the wood? Try using a finer blade to reduce the amount of chipping of the laminate.

Coming from someone who can appreciate ugly(as you call it, I disagree) and b-e-a-utiful portables, you have got yourself one incredibly awesome unit! :D

Shortly after this happened, my GPU died.

http://forums.benheck.com/viewtopic.php?t=24546

I had cleaned it up really nicely with 10 sicks of bondo and heavy sanding and painting. Then I had to rip it apart, only to find that the gpu was fried. It got super burn-your-hand hot.

well, after being like a "pain in the ass" and annoying at those forums asking about li-Ons batteries.
I didnt get enough info,so I decided try something weird/cheap/dangerous at my own risk

I found another identical battery , so I have 12 of them

Image

I decided make 3 groups of 4 cells, so I can connect 4 at serial and 3 groups at parallel getting 5400 mah and 14.8v

after watch a lot of info I didnt nothing about the pcb pinouts, so I tryed luck, After connect the + and - to the batteries also checked the 3 weird wires,I think I connected them like before.

before put them definitly inside the project, I´m going to make a 5 times test (recharge, discharge) with them, so Will able to check the estability and how them works, also will check how many minutes/hours it keep running the system without got poweroff.

time for pics^^

actually charging this pack at a safe place at my garage

I hope finish this project aprox in less than two weeks

Nah, I'll probably just make a more "clip-on" version of a wii laptop.

Anyways, everything looks great, do you have a video?
