I have had that problem on PS1 when using dirty or scratched discs. Are your discs in good condition?

Hmm.... thats a Dreamcast and PS2, can't help you sadly, but can give advice, become a retro gamer! That way no discs and stuff can get scratched, and my SNES and Megadrive lasted a lot longer than my PS2 and Dreamcast, and have better games

you ether have to make some lazer adjustments or replace the lazer

it onley dose this with dvds right? if so the cog adjustment should be all you have to do

I would stat off by slowley makeing adjustments to the white cog right beneath the disk tray mark it where it stared two clicks then test and so on till it starts playing stuff

if you adjust it to much one way it will onley be able to play cds or to much the outher way and it will onley be able to play dvds you have to get it just right

thats a good starting point if it dont work put it back where it was then ill tell you what to do next
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

you know if you where to post this on a real ps2 fourm almost everyboady knows to to correct lazer problems a place like http://www.ps2-scene.org would have had this correctley answered by now with a lot more detail than im willing to go into

btw guys if you dont know how to fix it why the hell are you flooding his thread with stupid stuff you know you hate when people do that to you he wants to fix his ps2 not have to sift to stuff like "ERR go play a snes duhh"

how to get to it may help also so you dont end out tearing it apart

take off the top cover half unscrew the small screws on top of the disk drive plug it back in eject the disk tray lift off the disk drive cover a click or 2 on the cog put drive cover back in place try dvd repeat as nessasery if it starts to work worse your terning it in the wrong direction
