progress report 05/31/07

i havent decided what im going to do about the 12v line yet, will jump that hurdle when i get to it lol. lots of progress today and one (very)minor setback! i got more work done on the case and everything test fit, the sides are on the cube waiting for final attachment, i got all the screwposts basically done and the mobo is secure along with everyhting else and its pretty sturdy. only setback was it FELL OFF OF MY DESK and busted off one of the controller fronts, i will secure it better next time, it also pulled loose a screw that was kinda weak to start with, the rest is holding together well and its pretty sturdy! i weighed it and the weight sans battery is about 2.5lbs and its just a hair over3.25" because i changed the front a bit. will have pics with my next update!

progress report 06/02/07

not a whole lot to report, got the controller wired up except for one ground and the Z button and start button. got one of the sidewalls reinforced and attached good and both controllers attached and reinforced as best i could, shouldnt have any more breaks, have one more sidewall to attach and the back peice and cut out for the video port, all thats left is wiring the power board and the lcd power and video/sound to the gamecube. after that is all said and done i have just a small ammount of case work to do (attaching the back controller halves to the back half of the cube and filling in some spots on the front.

i will get pics sometime this week or maybe after i get all of the above done and make you all wait  lol. with only 7 days to go to MGC i am cutting it close!

well its not gonna be 100% done by mgc but im trying my best to get it there! might not be the prettiest portable ever by then but it should be presentable and working! wish me luck, this has got to be some kind of record because not counting all the time i waited for parts and the little amount of work i did in April i did 90% of the work in FOURTEEN DAYS

PROGRESS REPORT SEMI-FINAL 06/08/07 (after midnight)

did some more wiring and casework today, got the lid sensor wired, the power port installed and wired one of the fans installed and some other misc wiring, all i have left to do is put in the other fan and wire it, wire the video and power to the lcd and put a switch for lcd and main power, also build a psone power lead adapter cable for use at MGC because i dont have time to get a 7808 for the screen so it will not have sound for MGC :( will do final wiring and testing tomorrow and as much bondowork as i can before a quick coat of paint before we leave saturday AM (around 2am lol) by the skin of my teeth lol

That is one seriously nice case! Definate nomination for the best GCp, if you get the electronics sorted :)

Dude, you truly are a franken god. Seriously, the ability to take such random parts and create such smooth symmetry is incredible. I mean, first your N64p case, now this! Hopefully the guts work out better for you this time, though...
