Hmm... That sounds really odd.

Marshall did excessive amounts of testing on his 64Drive, so the game should not do this.

It may either be,

- Your N64 is overheated (RCP / CPU / RDRAM)
- The SDRAM in the 64Drive is faulty or the file did not 'buffer' correctly from the SD card?
- The ROM you used is bad?

Those are just some ideas from a moron who knows nothing about the N64, but Marshall would have the correct answer for you nonetheless.

The main races, single or multiplayer races, are perfect, but battle is slightly slow. I don't think it's a defect on the cart, maybe some software bug. I dunno... I'll check an actual cart side to side, and see if it's for real, or if I'm imagining things.

Any other game runs perfect IMO

That's how the mario kart game/n64 is. It has nothing to do with the 64drive.

Just wanted to say I compared the 64drive running Mario Kart, and the original cart. THey're the same, so it was a wrong impression. I'm very happy with my unit. Have you guys received different cart colors from Marshall? mine's blue with a brownish label :) .

And now, some stuff I'd suggest as updates and developments (I'm not demanding anything, just wishing :P ) :

- controller pak saves to the CF or microSD card

- improved mp3 player. I'd be happy if only the next song started without me having to select it. Also, the songs start like 1 or 2 seconds forward, not fatal, but sometimes anoying.

- If possible, an easy way for us mortals to convert videos like the one Marshall shared.

- Text manuals and gamefaqs . The Colecovision flashcart supports displaying the manual for each game in text. I know there aren't text transcripts of all the manuals around, but it would be cool to put a gamefaq and being able to give it a quick read on the screen. Cheat codes galore!

- Cheat device support. I don't know if this is really possible at all. The NES Powerpak has Game Genie code support.

Could you please post a picture of your blue 64drive? I always wondered what it would look like in a colored cartridge :D

As for suggestions:

If you press C-Down the game list is really scrolling super fast. Maybe one( 8) ) could make it so that if you press C-Right the game list just skips to the next 9 games.

I wonder if there is a golden one
Imagine 10 years from now these special 64drives may be worth something to a collector ... who will be the first to have it in all available colors

Oh man, if you ordered yours in September and still haven't got it, then I've still got ages to wait for mine.
At least a month anyway.

I wonder how many of these things Marshall has actually sold?

he had pre-orders for over 100 of them to the best of my knowledge. the exact number sold total is unknown to me.

When I unplug a controller when playing F-Zero X on 64drive and plug it in again, I can't use it anymore until I press Reset on the console. The same with every controller but with this game only.
Is it a glitch in a game or in 64drive?
