I Can't Controll Mario In Super mario 64!

Post by King Kolton9 » Sat Feb 26, 2011 6:38 pm

All I know is a week ago I opened my nintendo 64 controller cleaned the thumbstick, tested it, and it worked fine, today I can use it for about 1 minuits, then mario decides he wants to go in circles or move indefinitly to the left without me touching the controller! Sometimes i don't even get past the save select screen it just moves to the left, and when I try to move it over to a save it just jumps back! (I can move longer in the game than the level select screen.) I need help I dont know what to do!

If any modding is required, I'll just buy a new controller, unless soneone will sell me a modified controller that has a playstation 2, or 3 thumstick for $25.00! (Note: If it has wireless capabilities, I will pay a reasonable $35.00, or if they put a n64 controller in a ps2, or x-box controller that would be fantastic! I'm also looking for a ps2 in an x-box case simple, I just dont want to do it if I modifiy the case and screw up!) Could it be the joystick? I will upload pictures and a vide later.

    I need to fix it.
[*]If all else fails, I'll buy a new one preferribly modded like stated above.
    [*]It worked a week ago.
[*]It moves like it has a mind of it's own, and it does not
[*]I can not modifiy it, because I have no soldering iron!
[*]It works for a minuit then stops, and goes in circles!
I have the following feelings: :? :( :wtf: :x
    Please help thanks!

Well, If you measure the cup, and put a line in the middle, and fill to the line, it's half full, but If you fill it to the top, and drink to the line it's half empty!

Don't spam the boards with duplicate threads. You won't get better or faster answers; it just makes work for the mods.

hmmm i doubt anyone will do a modded n64 controller for $25, and n64 controllers are limited to crappy infrared for wireless im afriad so probably a no go aswell.

I took care of the other threads.

Putting a more modern joystick is possible with some N64 controllers, as seen here.

So, wait I would have to pay $40.00 dollars for someone to put a thumbstick on a n64? Even I'm not that crazy, with that, I would just replace my broken wii remote! (unless it's a psp stick, I really wont pay $40.00 for a $15.00 item!)

I did it, tested it 3 times, and still I can only play for 5 minits, but I think I know what the problem is: I found out if I flick the joystiick hard he automaticly goes, and walks by him self, so I think it's the joystick! :wtf:
