awesome, its the smaller n64p I saw.

I also like you keep the D pad and you used a C joystick for c buttoms.

anyway the needing external batteries/suply is a little problem

Is that an L button on the back?

This is truly amazing. Not many things bring me back to Benheck nowadays, but this might actually bring me all the way back to portables. I have to hear more about all you did.

Thanks so much for the comments. It makes the build all the more worth it when you guys like it so much!

how long did it take you to build it?

On and off, about 3 months.

I've updated the post to include a shot with heatsinks attached.

How did you make the c-stick digital?

It's very easy using an original controller, but was slightly more difficult with the third party one I'm using. I'll try to find the time to post a how-to.

I suppose you could make it smaller with a smaller screen right?

Yes that is true.

Yes. It's a gamecube start button.

Maybe you already told us and I just didn't notice it, but what does the switch on the back do?

Power. You can see that the power plug is connected to it if you look close.

That is so amazing that I filled my pants. Do you plan on selling cut down n64 mobos to other members? If I had the cash, I would totally buy one.

Any chance of getting more information on what you did? Is that wire wrap wire? Also, what are the two extra chips on the N64 motherboard?

How the heck did you chop apart a n64 board and wire it back together? I mean dang, I can't even not fry one, much less chop it in half.

That makes a lot of sense now that you say it. Bit of odd placement, though.
