My Handheld Dreamcast

Got back case done today. Take no notice of the overall finish for now. Loads of priming to do.
Going to make a case/cover for the GDrom and cdrom. Other than that, making some good progress.
I did it this way because i figured, the closer i can get the cd to the actual body, the smaller it will be.

I'm positive they are. You can get a great view in the first picture; those are definitely the PS1 screen hinges.Triton wrote:that is by far the most clever arraignment of a disc drive that i have ever seen, mad props dude! cant wait to see this thing finished

Lookin' great Techknott! This is one of the most creative, yet intuitive case designs I have seen thus far! Can't wait to see the finished product.

Well I've tried to do an extender for my DCp back in the days were I had enough free time to post here AND work on my DCp (college = 28hours of work a day now ...).techknott wrote:AAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrgh, dont say things like that. Is this true or an assumption? Ive not actually tested it yet with the gdrom as it is.-=FamilyGuy=- wrote:as I think timing is crucial for this part of the assembly.
Nothing ever booted on the console with it attached and extended, however I noticed afterwhile that a wire was *maybe* not connected properly.
I personnally really hope it'd works btw.
Also, a revision 2 dreamcast got no gd-rom board but a way longer ribbon cable for the gd-rom unit, so you could use of of these DC instead to fit your design. (if timing is important they adjusted it according to the long wire in the rev2 DC).
Good luck for this btw, it's one of the most clever and original way to do a portable I've ever seen !
