NES controller on an SNES?

Includes but not limited to: SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, PlayStation 1, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Game Gear and I guess the Virtual Boy.

NES controller on an SNES?

Post by Seaniccus » Wed Aug 27, 2008 8:58 pm

I recently bought a super game boy, and although the SNES controller is great, I thought it might be fun to play Gameboy games with an old-NES controller. I know the pinouts are similar between the two controllers, and I know hookin up an SNES cotroller to an NES control deck will yield positive results, but does it work both ways?

They're interchangeable according to this site, swap the plugs.

Thanks! This is just about what i'm looking for.

I also figured out some weird stuff about the Super Game Boy, but i'll make a separate post about that after I make a corresponding youtube video.

there's been a few of us working on trying that. but, the zapper uses different pins on the input than a normal nes controller. i have the plug for a super scope that i'm attempting to transfer to the zapper. but it's on the back burner right now.
