Amazing. I think one thing that could have made it better:

Painting the accessories. The player 2 port, memory card port, disk reader, battery holder would all look much nicer if they were black as well. I know that is hard, but still.

Also, batteryholder door?

'9111 mugging avenue NYC'

I'd choose that over any system any day in the entire world of infifnity!
It is MUCH sleeker than a psp (I don't even own one so I don't know what i'm saying.OH wait....I DO know that it's better!)

If you get this licensed and mass produced, you sir.....will be a billionare and the ruler of the videogame world! ALL HAIL THE PLAY BOY!! (sorry, but I HAD to say that in caps)
(and don't forget to hail gforce as well, as he..........IS THE MASTER!!!)

Thanks for the compliments guys. It will look a lot better when I take some decent sunlight photos. I've been too busy to work on it lately, but it shouldn't take too long to get done. The only thing that worries me is I dont think the batterys are handling the current draw well, and thats why the backlight is dieing. It could be that some batteries can output more than others, so I'm going to put a capacitor on the line, and then try different ones and see if I get a change. Worst case scenario is I have to do an LED backlight mod.

Thought I would let you see what the insides look like. This is why it took me so long to design and build. There are no tolerances, everything is just plain crammed in there. The only space in there is between the LCD and the mother board, and all that ended up used for cramming in the wires. Even the psone mother board had to be trimmed to fit in the case.

I'll put up info when I get this done. Right now, gotta book to class, thanks for the encouragement guys.

I don't know if anyone noticed but to me this design looks very similar to Brian Gardiner's (especially in the two pics below)

PS sorry for the huge pictures "sigh" I know I am a noob you fix it or flame me for if you wish.

G-force wrote:So I keep hearing this project being compared to the Palm Psone, so i thought I'd take another look at it, and I noticed something. No batteries. It's not portable, that I can see. :| In the inside picture, no battery, and there is no mention of a battery anywhere. It's one heck of an awesome case, and great job overall, but to not include batterys is kinda sad. Anybody got more info on this?
Er... did the palmpstwo have batteries?

Both the PalmPSone and the Snes2Go use external battery packs, if I remember right. They are still quite a work of art.

G-force, I think that is the best PSone portable I've seen. The screen voume/brightness buttons are nice touch. 8)

"Creating a battery pack was an afterthought since I knew battery life would be pathetic. It made sense to make an external pack to keep the weight down." quoted from above the last bottom picture on his site below
