Need some help, what, exactly, is this? (52K WARNING!!!)

Includes but not limited to: SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, PlayStation 1, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Game Gear and I guess the Virtual Boy.

I bought a sega power-base converter today ($2!!!!), and twirly-wrapped around it was this little device, i'm not exactly sure what it does or what its for. It says "Tokin" on it, help is appreciated.

52K warning, huh? I'll bet that's pretty slow...

Nice high resolution blurry pictures. There's pretty much no way that I can tell what it is you're photographing, so I think the item's identity will continue to be a mystery.

its the mastergear converter for the genesis- master system converter.

Anyhow, if it has a wire passing through it, I'd assume it's an RF filter, to help "clean up" the line of outside interference (electromagnetic interference, radio interference, whatever).
