What all are you using in the portable (screen, NES type, ect)?

Hm. The screen looks similar to those Dealextreme screens out there, so it's probably safe to assume that it's got its own switching regulator in it, so I'm pretty sure you can get away with hooking the battery strait up to it.

I believe the original NES mobo has a 7805 regulator on it, so you should be able to hook the battery straight to that as well (wired in parallel with the screen), with the audio amp piping power from the NES's 7805 regulator (so long as the amp isn't too beefy).

That might run a little warm tho (the 7805) so another option would be an additional regulator running parallel off of the battery going to the amp.

You should wait until all the components are here.

EDIT2: do you have a case design

First, you need to desolder the RF box if havent done so. Then you have to make a video amp from here to get a decent video output. After that, you just need to wire the jack to the amp and you're done.
