As stated before, the screen and FB2 both run off of 5v. I used a Gameboy Color regulator to step up the 3.7v battery to 5v.

Great portable by the way. I will take a stab at doing this as well.

Couple of questions if you don't mind.
I have two screens I bought from ebay... both are 3.5" screens, and have been used for portable projects in the past on here. I have them working, no issues with that, however, the screen seems to be too bright and washes out the details of what is on the screen. I did not do the LED mod, I left it as it came from the factory. Perhaps if I complete the LED mod it would help? What are your opinions. Yes... I already tried to dial it down with the factory dials. it didn't work enough.

I do have another screen that produces a GREAT picture. I got rid of the second board that came with the screen that had the volumes control and picture control. When I disconnected that, the picture defaulted to great settings, so I didn't mind that. However, I have no sound, which is something I do want. If I build an audio amp or use a similar one like used in this project, will that bring it back to life?

On this project... do you have any issues with the Cartridge swaying or wobbling too much while you are playing? I worry about that as the game can reset or something while in the middle of playing.

Thanks!

By washed out, do you mean the colors are kind of dull and the screen is really bright? That's how it is with Stella, as well. It's evident when it's hooked up to a TV. The colors are still there and it looks fine, so I don't let it bother me.

With the board you took off, did it have just the volume control of also the audio amp? If it was just the control, the amp is on the screen board and you just need to trace and rewire the volume knob.

Good pictures would be helpful.

Hello...
Is there any possible way I can get a detailed circuit drawing... or a 'HOW-TO' guide for the Audio amp and the LED low battery indicator?
Thanks!

Here's the guide for the low-battery indicator:

But the schematic came from the datasheet for the audio amp chip. It's the TDA2822N.

Anyone have a clue where I can buy perhaps 2 of these?
Nothing on ebay... I can't find a place that requires you to buy a lot of them
Do any of you have a few that you'd like to sell?

So I figured out the audio chip.

Can someone help out with the wiring of the GBC regulator?
I am having issues seeing what to do with this. It looks as though extra parts have been added and other parts were moved (I assume to make room in the case)

I am attempting this in the same IPOD case... but that darned thing is REALLY small. I may need to try a different LCD.
