I'm sure most of the members here know about the NES Power pack and some might even have bought one. http://www.retrousb.com/product_info.php?products_id=34

I'm interested in not swapping games constantly so obviously I want the power pack and it's perks, but will it work on a portable or a NOAC?

Thanks, Lachy17689 :)

System Compatibility List:
Works on authentic Nintendo Systems including NTSC, PAL A, PAL B, and Asian top loader and toaster systems.
Works on Famicom using 72-60 pin converter.
Does NOT work on clone systems like the NEX, Yobo, or FC Twin.
Untested on portable systems, not likely to work

If the portable was made with an authentic system, why would it "not be likely to work"?

Wait a cotton picking minute, I found this, he used a NOAC and the power pack works fine:

Discuss.

I suppose they mean like the FC Mobile 2 or the Retro Mini.

Would there be anyway to know, anyway to test the NOAC :?:

Well he used a Super Joy III (I think), and that worked, so just use the same one...

I remember I had to adjust the resistors on some data lines to get mine to work with a NOAC. I had the first PCB revision though, may be different now.

Interesting, so there's a process where you can get it to work?

It really depends on each system, but varying the resistance on some datalines did seem to make it work on my NOAC. The new powerpaks have this mod already built-in, so you might have to jump the resistor bank or replace it (depending on the resistance that works with your NOAC). http://www.nespowerpak.com/powerpakmod.html

I'd honestly just use a real nes board. they can be greatly reduced in size and that way you would have a guarantee that the powerpack will work.

I would and I really want to but the case I'm using is about half an inch to small (even if I chop some useless pieces off). :?

show me the nes mobo next to the case and I'll see what can all be knocked off. I made one fit in a gamegear case and even then there was room to be cut off.
