I am making an Xbox 360 WVI as a commission. I haven't started yet, but I am starting the process of ordering parts.
I will need the following-
Batteries
Charger
PCB
Screen
Xbox 360 controller (Provided by commissioner)
WVI Receiver/Transmitter
7.4V to 3.3V Regulator (PTH08080)
Vacuum Forming Plastic (Does anyone know if this is good?)
"Patriotic Blue" Krylon Paint
Led's-
Blue
Red
Green
Yellow
Hinges (Where can I get good ones?)
Various Wire, Solder, ABS cement, etc.
The commissioner will pay me my first amount this Friday, and then I can start ordering parts.
Cost-
I am getting the screen, battery, PCB, and charger from Zenloc for $100.
$69.99 for the WVI receiver/transmitter.
The regulator will be free, and the small parts to get it to work will be about $5 max.
The plastic will be about $30
The LEDs are $0.05 each. I will get 5 of each color, which will be only $1
I don't know how much a couple of hinges will cost, but they should be that expensive.
I have the rest (wire, solder, tools, vacuum former, etc.)
100+70+5+30+1+(10?)=about $226

Re: Xbox 360 WVI Commission Progress
I'm making a WVI but only enclosing screen, receiver and battery. This way I can use original controllers from any console to make it universal. When it comes to wireless AV receiver you want to make sure you get 5.8Ghz or 1.2Ghz because if you use Xbox controller it runs at 2.4Ghz and there is interference with av receiver.
Here is my post about my WVI and you can take a look at my 5.8GHz av transmitter/receiver. It is very small, draws only about 150mA and can run of 7.4V:

Here is the link where a guy tests the interference with controller at 2.4Ghz:

E3c changed his mind. This commission will happen after I finish another small one he wants me to do. I'm waiting for the parts for that one.
