Have you decided on the set up yet?
I like set up B a little more than set up A

Yes Im going with set up B. So im going to cut the board to relocate the A B X Y RB RT buttons. Theres 7 traces on the front and 1 on the back that I'll have to rewire. Here's a pic of where I plan to cut.

Here's the final set up. This way the touch pad can be used instead of an external mouse. Buttons are just laid out at the moment. On the back there will be the RB and LB buttons, Im not using the triggers because I want it to be able to lay flat. Might use the D pad but not really sure if I need it.

How comfortable will that be? Seems like it would be top heavy. I personally would rather frankencase half of the controller on each side. But, if it works for you, go for it.

Also, moved because it has pretty much nothing to do with the N64 itself. :P

It's a really light unit and the weight is evenly spread so top heaviness is not a problem. I may move the buttons up a little bit if I have too.

Does this run emulators? because with my experience, emulators (especially n64) have been slow on netbooks. I have a Lenovo S10 and I couldn't get past 20 FPS :(

The N64 emulator runs fine I'll put up some gameplay videos once I've finished.

Tonight Im going to cut the controller board and rewire it. Got a new soldering iron, wire and solder. The right Analog is acting all funky right now. It wont stop aiming done and to the right in games. I think it's because some of the pins are still connected to each other but Im going to relocate it tonight anyway so that should fix it hopefully.

Got the board cut and going to rewire it tomorrow. I got the analog stick removed but I messed it up so I'll need to find another one somewhere.

well let me know how you made it go faster (could just be that my rom sucked) because i would really like to play banjo tooie on my computer until my n64p is done...btw VERY cool idea

I assume it will just run windows and have the controller wires soldered to a USB port or something. If so you're going to have to have a keyboard and a mouse or touchpad to log on and get the emulator started. How will this work. I'm curious. :D

Here's something you might like to run it:

http://www.gameex.net/

It's kind of like XBMC or Windows Media Center, but for emulators. 8) Works great when you have limited controls (game controller, remote control, etc).

^That is awesome....If I had the money for another netbook I would probably make one of these and use gameex with it. but i dont so i'll just stick with my WIP n64 Toast64 (<-- I don't really like the name. sounds like a nintoaster)
