I broke my horipad mini analog

as above, I need a replacement analog stick for a horipad mini, normally this would be an easy fix. BUT
on the horipads analog stick the potentiometers are wierd,

Y to gnd is 4.7Kohms, Y to vcc is 5.2Kohms.
same with the x potentiometer

anyone know a replacement analog stick for this?, ps1/xbox ones don't work

He said the potentiometers are weird meaning it won't work with some ordinary stick.

Wire a few resistors in series?

i'll give it a go, try and get the ps1 stick upto 5k from its usual 4k

Or in parallel to ring thtefull sweep down to your specs without making a dead zone (artificial limit to maximum travel).

It may also be possible to use a pencil(graphite) to mend a break in the track, depending on how the potentiometer broke...

Yep I've user a Gamecube analog stick in a Hori Minipad in several of my portables. No problem at all.

such a relief, thanks guys, i actually broke it by chopping off the potentiometers stick in an attempt tho shorten it a little x\

uh... that's repairable w/ a drill and a couple of pins.

bad news
for some reason ground and X are now shorted.
checked the board, checked everything twice but nope, still shorted.
otherwise the controller works fine,
this things going to the trash

Reflow all the pins that touch the x trace first, migt be a sliver of solder got blown under a pin or something similar.
