I am going to build one of those gamecube to n64 adapters and I was wondering, what is j3 in this schematic? j1 is the n64 port j2 is the gamecube port but I just can't seem to figure out j3

It's labeled in-circuit programming (optional)

ok I read up on ICSP and I think I get it now, I'll try build this sometime when I get a pic programmer and a breadboard.

Re: building the wavebird
I really don't need on-board programming so I've decided to build it this way.
http://svn.navi.cx/misc/trunk/wasabi/de ... -basic.pdf
all the parts I wasn't able to get from radioshack are in the mail / or soon will be and I was wondering,
Where it uses a 20MHz crystal oscilator would it be o.k. to use a 22.1184MHz crystal oscilator instead? I have that on-hand and would rather use that then getting a 20MHz crystal oscilator shipped to me from Hong Kong.

Re: building the wavebird
ok thanks. sorry I'm new to using schematics, but on C1 and C2 where it says 15-33pf that means it could either be 15 or 33 right?

Re: building the wavebird
Im just curious here, but I thought I remembered reading that the GC->N64 adaptor didnt work with the wavebird wireless controller, or have things changed?
Re: building the wavebird
When you get your oscillator, you might want to get something like 20.000 intsead of just 20.
I dont see why you need to get it from hong kong, unless Thats the cheapest way. I see those thing lyring around everywhere.

Re: building the Cube64
oh when I fist found this someone on the forums had said, if you want a wireless n64 controller you could build the wavebird and gave a link to those schematics, which I now realize is called the cube64.
also no I don't have any 20MHz crystal oscilators laying around and I couldn't find any shipping from the USA on ebay so I got them from Hong Kong. Hopefully everything will be here by next weekend.

You know there are other, often better places to buy stuff than ebay? Like digi-key or mouser perhaps?stuntpenguin007 wrote:oh when I fist found this someone on the forums had said, if you want a wireless n64 controller you could build the wavebird and gave a link to those schematics, which I now realize is called the cube64.

Re: building the Cube64
I have all of the parts now except for the gamecube socket. Now I have some questions about how I should be hooking things up. I've done a little scribbling on the schematics, so the black lines are ground and the red are possative. anyways just tell me if this is correct.
