My first N64p.

Post by Mikeyman64 »

So far I've made an NOACp, and a SNESp, so I think it's time to take the next step. :D

So, just a couple questions before I start buying stuff.

1. Batteries. I'm thinking about using lithium ion cells because they are light weight, and they can recharge many times. What voltage should I be looking for? I was looking at these. Would maybe two sets of three of these be a good setup (two sets for longer life)? I guess the real question would be what have you guys had the most luck with?

2. About this TI PTH08000 (DC-DC converter?). From Harshboy's amazing diagram, I take it that all this does is convert 9V to 3.3V? Is that correct? Where is the best place to find one? Should I start looking at places like mouser.com and digikey.com? Or should I ask someone here for one?

Thanks in advance for any input.

Well...

The plan was to get a bunch of them. ;) Two sets of three in-line 3.6v batteries makes two 10.8V sources. Might be a bit much, but nothing a regulator can't solve.

And have NO mAh-age. (Crap, how do I say that?)

That's a bad idea. Get real batteries.

I don't see how 6600 x2 mAh could be considered "NO mAh-age". That sounds like a lot of mAh-age to me. Btw, what would you consider a "real" battery?

I found a better battery (though more expensive). I think 2600 mAh x3x2, or 15,600 (or would it be 7,800?) mAh should get me by. ;)

Btw, what regulator drops to 8V for the screen? Is it a 1202? I found something called a NTE964, would that be it?
